We build what we wish existed. Then we run it for years.
Sage Untethered conceives, builds and operates its own software products, brands and services. One deliberate idea at a time, kept for the long haul.
An independent company that builds and operates its own products and brands.
Everything here starts the same way: a frustration with how something is done, or a question nobody has answered properly. We design the smallest thing that solves it, build it, and put it in front of the people who have that problem.
Then we keep it. Each product gets its own name, its own home on the web and its own long life, looked after for years rather than built to be sold.
Four steps, repeated.
The same loop runs behind everything the company has made.
- 01
Notice
Every product begins with a real problem, ours or one we keep hearing about. If nobody actually has the problem, it does not get built.
- 02
Build
Small scope, finished properly. Each product is designed and built in-house, shipped early and improved in public.
- 03
Launch
Each product gets a clear name and a clear job, so the people who need it find it when they go looking for exactly that.
- 04
Operate
Then the long part. Every product is kept running and kept improving, for years after the launch.
Mostly software, so far.
Not everything made here will be software. A company can begin as an unanswered question. Art can say what no product can. A new direction needs no permission from an old one.

Two words, held in tension.
Not knowledge, but the ability to question, understand, and choose.
Freedom from whatever decides who we must become.
Freedom, guided by wisdom.
Read the philosophyA small team that does more than one thing.
Sage Untethered is led by its chief executive and run by a small team. Nobody here does only one thing.

To think freely. To build deliberately. To remain untethered.
